They fall within the definition of off-road vehicle under the relevant statute:

  • "off-road vehicle" means a vehicle propelled or driven otherwise than by muscular power or wind and designed to travel on not more than three wheels.
  • there is no need to insure it if it is being operated on the land of the owner.

If the policy insures a dirt bike as a described vehicle, then dirt bikes are automobiles for the purpose of that policy;

When the insured is injured in riding a dirt bike in Florida, it qualifies as an automobile for the purpose of claiming accident benefits.
